PE Global requires an Automation Manager on a permanent basis for one of our client sites in Sligo.The Automation Manager leads the Plant Assembly Engineering Group on site reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager. This person is the Site SME on Engineering issues and provides technical guidance and leadership to the site Leadership team. Key Responsibilities: Establish with the site engineering manager the department goals, schedules and timetables for activities. Assist with the management and supporting of manufacturing equipment development. People Leadership: promote departmental goals by selecting, motivating and training team members. Lead the delivery of new Engineering initiatives. Develop monthly engineering metrics for site leadership team and global counterparts. Preparation of capital expenditure requests for plant. Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits. Identification and implementation of manufacturing equipment related CIP’s. Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits. In conjunction with calibration coordinator ensure compliance with calibration requirements. Completion of PM on manufacturing equipment. Completion of instrument calibration as per schedule. Issue management reports as requested and on time. Management of relevant budgets within target. Cross train within manufacturing engineering. Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to. Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement. Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards. Liaise with Division Engineering as required. Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects. Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering & Safety. Perform investigations as result of non-conformance events. Supervise external contractors. Negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts. Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines. Required to undertake specific investigations, and equipment monitoring, with the view to improve manufacturing performance e.g. reducing plant downtime and maximizing Plant output and yield. It may be necessary to re-design elements of manufacturing machinery to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency. Education: Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline. Membership of Institute of Engineers Ireland (IEI. Experience Required: 5-10 years experience in Engineering roles. 2 years plus in equipment design/development/project roles.
