My client, based in Mayo has an excellent industry opportunity for a qualified accountant with 1-2 years PQE to join their team as a Management Accountant. A major player in the pharmaceutical industry this is a much coveted opportunity with a company that offers a clearly defined path to progression, excellent experience, strong remuneration and benefits for the right candidate. Reporting to the Financial Controller your responsibilities will include: Business Planning : Preparing the annual business plan & quarterly review schedules within a predetermined timeframe, keeping meticulous supporting documents to facilitate all users. Strategic Costing: design, development and maintenance of models for forecasting the impact of cost reduction projects for the facility. Cost Improvement Program: Take the lead role in overseeing the target setting and monitoring process. Advise project leaders as to the financial impact of cost improvement projects and ensure the accurate forecasting and reporting of savings. Month End Closing: Prepare month end summary of variance analysis for volumes, material prices, material usage, cost reductions, overhead spending and absorption. Capital Appraisal: Review the NPV/IRR analysis of capital investment requests, ensuring that production and engineering are in agreement of any potential benefits of capital investment. Management Information: Ensure that production management has the appropriate level of information to verify the production performance for efficiency, spoilage, cost improvements and overhead spending. Standard Costing System : Update standard costs annually at business plan generation ensuring costs reflect business plan volumes and expenditure. Maintain accurate standard costs on a monthly basis which reflect bill of material changes for new products, changes in product structures or revised manufacturing processes. ERP System monitoring. Headcount Planning : Review volume forecasts on a monthly basis to ensure that the appropriate labour requirements are in place to meet production demand levels. Requirements: Qualified accountant. 1-2 years PQE in industry. Team player that will play an active part in management team, supporting production, quality, engineering, supply chain and HR members.
