Description

A maintenance Technician is required in Sligo for a 6 month contract with a manufacturing company. Job Purpose: Working in Operations Engineering to develop a culture of accountability, empowerment, continuous improvement, customer focus, collaboration, involvement and development of oneself within the Value Stream. Driving continuous improvement. Support communication within the Engineering Function and the Site, also support material flow through Value Stream. Provide support to the Operations Engineering Lead, Engineering Lead, Value Stream and Value Stream Team Leaders. • Technical maintenance of operational plant items and machinery. • Performing high level preventative maintenance on mixing, filling & packaging machinery as required for production, including where necessary, cleaning and sanitation. • Provide technical support to the Value Streams & Facilities ensuring Operations & Facilities equipment is functioning at optimal levels while maintaining compliance to GMP and regulatory requirements. Responsibilites: • General use and application of packaging machines as required. • Ensure all tasks are carried out according to procedures. • Performing routine adjustments, changeovers and washes following set standards on production machinery as required by the Value Stream. • Carrying out routine checks, repairs and item replacements as required during the filling / packaging run ensuring machines are operating effectively. • Maintain excellent GMP and housekeeping standards. • Support all Engineering and Value Stream requirements as requested. • Carrying out plant equipment PM’s maintaining items of Operational plant and machinery including routine PM’s to aid the achievement of targets and efficient running of lines. • To implement and improve on existing preventative maintenance programs. • Carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance jobs efficiently and in a timely manner as directed, ensuring documentation is completed and returned correctly. • Assisting in the installation, commissioning and testing of new machinery. • Dealing with any problems or issues escalated from value stream which may affect production. • To monitor and respond to alarms on the qualified BMS. • To carry out work generated on work requisition (non-urgent work jobs required by others on site) to meet service level agreements. • Liaise with end users to determine mechanical requirements and to repair or offer alternative solution. • To assist with the ordering of supplies as needed for work. • Ensure documentation of maintenance activities is to GxP standards where necessary. • To work on projects to improve system performance and reliability. • Ensuring the achievement of 100% RFT documentation as per Quality Matrix requirement. • Maintaining items of plant and manufacturing machinery such as pumps, agitators, pipe work, doors, valves, ceilings, etc. • Actively engage in the development and implementation of standard work within the area. • Assist in developing and implementing line/process improvements to achieve required OEE. • Train personnel as required. • Completion of all maintenance records. • Must have a strong technical aptitude. • To be able to work on one’s own initiative within an agreed process aligned to Quality Management System and GSK Engineering Standards. • To highlight if there are issues with the equipment or management thereof. • To ensure 100% accuracy of data input. Must have a sense of ownership and accountability for their work. Criteria: • Recognized apprenticeship or an equivalent qualification. • Computer Literate. • 2 Years of experience in relevant industry. • Working knowledge of computers. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Good analytical skills and ability to think logically in order to problem solve. • Ability to convey information clearly and accurately. • Understanding of the relevant quality standards. • 3rd Level Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Level 8) or similar. • Experience and knowledge of Pharmaceutical / GMP environment. • Experience of participating in project work and handling multiple tasks.
