The Build Manager is responsible for the ensuring that all machines being built at any given time are completed on schedule and to the desired built standard. The Build Manager is also responsible for liaising with the company program manager with regards to allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining co-operative, motivated and successful project teams. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities• Meeting project deadlines for build and debug of automated machines. • Creating weekly build lists for each machine which outline the tasks that are to be completed each week.• Hold morning meetings with each build team to address any issues that arise the previous day.• Maintain an open issues list at the machine.• Give technical guidance to the build team.• Address any quality issues with the machine build. • Highlight any issues with the lead designer, when required.• Coordinate with the lead designer to resolve any material issues.• Assist with Debugging of the machine.• Work with the customer in the completion of the machine of FAT.• Meet with the program manager weekly to give project updates and resource requirements.• Ensure the workshop is maintained as a tidy and safe work environment.• Complete yearly performance reviews with the build technicians. Education and Experience. • Qualification in relevant degree (mechanical or electrical) /or relevant trade e.g. toolmaker.• Minimum 5 years experience in industry• Good Understanding and experience working with automation systems• Proven experience in people management.
