Description

Our client, a leading company in North Sligo is seeking a Production Quality Engineer. Responsibilites: Co-ordination and supervision of the production schedule across all production teams based on the overall targets set by the Operations Manager. Monitoring of the production schedule to ensure PDI dates are achieved in the most efficient way and react to situations that may compromise such dates. Review drawing packs prior to production and be fit to challenge the design and build process along with offering recommendations to improve same. Review drawing packs prior to production and breakdown the number of cuts, folds and welds required for manufacture of standard products. Identify TPM requirements and drive accordingly. Ensure that all production personnel are quality focused and that products are manufactured to meet the requirements of the Quality Management System. Ensure that all stand alone equipment/solution driven equipment is fit for purpose (cosmetically, mechanically, electrically and from a H&S perspective) and is in line with the customers’ expectations prior to delivery. Implement appropriate quality procedures that ensure any production related quality issues raised are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with ISO9001. Ensure that all relevant equipment is set up appropriately for PDI including 3rd party supply and that product is available for testing purposes. Ensure accurate records are populated as one report (PDI’s, TL issues, site install issues) and distributed at the weekly quality meeting to ensure that the root cause of the issues can be identified, corrective measures and timelines agreed and implemented. Continuous monitoring of the corrective measures and timelines is imperative to ensure close out of same. Work with the site installation teams, collate quality issues in to one report and establish the source of the issues (design, purchasing and production) and the impact on both materials and labour for reporting and analytical purposes. To be proactive in contributing to create more efficient manufacturing processes in order to reduce quality issues and waste and promote ‘Right first time’ principles. Implement standard operating procedures for all production operations under the direction of the Operations Manager. Populate and implement detailed non-conformance reports for raw material and maintain records that can be used by the Purchasing department to review supplier performance and to make decisions regarding which suppliers are in a position to support the company. Lead the development of quality management system including its efforts towards ISO9001 accreditation. Desired Skills and Experience. Minimum 4 years’ experience in Industrial Electrical / Mechanical Industry. Deep understanding of Food Safety and Food Production System. 3rd level Qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Quality Engineering / Mechatronics. Electrical background/experience an advantage. A proven track record of quality fundamentals. Strong operational skills and attention to detail. Experience of the design and build process. Good presentation and general supervisory skills. Strong written communication abilities. The ability to multi-task and take an overview on a large number of projects at any time. Technical aptitude in automation & pneumatics with problem solving skills. Experience of working with sheet-metal and fabrication processes.
