Nature of the Post: St. Angela’s College, Sligo are seeking to establish a pool of suitably qualified and experienced hourly paid Lecturers in Gaeilge to complete part-time hours which may arise within the College’s Department of Education. Successful candidates will have specific duties in the area of Gaeilge and Specific Teaching Methodologies. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidates will be required to carry out such duties as are assigned by the Head of Department or such other staff member as the President may designate, which may include, but not be limited to:- • Teaching and assessment in Gaeilge within the Education Department at undergraduate, certificate and post-graduate level, and across relevant College programmes in line with College policy. • Responsibility for preparation of students to become teachers of Gaeilge at Post-primary level including tutoring / supervision of students on School Placement and in microteaching. • Teaching and assessment in the area of Specific Teaching Methodologies Gaeilge on the Initial Teacher Education programme for post-primary teachers and on relevant post-graduate programmes. • Development, updating, implementation and promotion of courses / programmes in Gaeilge/Education on a continuous basis within the Education Department; • Assisting with the co-ordination of student placement; • Supervision, tutoring and assessment of student research and assignments at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; • Evaluation of relevant programmes and revision and development of programmes on an ongoing basis; • Contribution to the ongoing evaluation and development of the Education Department as a whole; • Other such duties as may be assigned from time to time by Head of Education/College President.
